What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is essentially cardio, gymnastics and strength training rolled into one eclectic, efficient package. We perform pullups, pushups, handstands and box jumps.  We lift weights, swing kettlebells, climb ropes and throw medicine balls.  We run, row, jump rope and use gymnastics rings. We mix all of these elements together in challenging and creative ways so that you never get bored.     

Our coaches are responsible for ensuring that your workout is not easy nor impossible, that your form and range of motion are correct, that your speed and intensity are appropriate, that the exercises and weights are adjusted to your fitness level, and that you have a plan for long-term success.

By committing to our program, you will learn new skills, improve your nutrition habits, get stronger, feel and look better and improve your quality of life.

Getting Started

Here at CrossFit Garden City we do a lot more than tell you what machine to use, how many reps to do and what buttons to push.  We teach you new skills, challenge you to work harder than you ever have before and demand commitment to ensure the best possible results.   

In order to ensure our program is as safe, efficient and effective as possible for everyone that trains here, our coaches take time to get to know you and give you the tools you need to succeed.  We do not rush this process, and therefore we require everyone to participate in a thorough introduction to our program.

STEP 1: Free Trial Class

Our program is very hard to explain...make our lives easier and just come try it!  Prior to making any type of commitment, we want you to experience our workouts, coaching and gym environment first-hand. 

Our Free Trial Classes are offered Saturday mornings at 9:00am.  You can reserve a spot in an upcoming class by clicking here.

If that day and time does not work with your schedule, contact us to discuss your other options. 

Our Free Trial Class enables you to:

  • Meet our coaches and get familiar with our workout environment
  • Learn how we can modify all of our workouts to any fitness level
  • Try a workout first-hand (optional)
  • Ask questions about how the program works, membership options, our Foundations Program and anything else on your mind!

STEP 2: Foundations Program

Prior to joining our CrossFit classes, everyone* must participate in Foundations, a 4 week-long program designed to gradually introduce the movements, training and intensity found in our program.  It is designed for the generally active, injury free individual who wants to train in our ongoing group CrossFit classes.

In this program, we will expose beginners to our movement curriculum in a group format.  Movement techniques will be drilled and you will receive a progressive introduction to the intensity levels that are inherent in our group classes.

(* Experienced CrossFitters can test out of Foundations by demonstrating competency with our entire curriculum of movements. STEP 3: CrossFit Group Classes

Our CrossFit Group Classes combine weightlifting, calisthenics, gymnastics and cardiovascular activity into one eclectic, efficient and incredibly effective package. Our coaches will take you through the Workout of the Day in a supportive, instructional and motivating environment. Our workouts offer infinite variety so you never get bored and scalability so you are being challenged according to your current fitness level.
